CURRICULUM
COR AULOS was born on October 1993. The first public performance was on March the 19th of 1994 at a choirs concert at Sant Cugat del Vallès (Barcelone - Spain), where the choir achieved a great success for its quality and youth.
Our choir has performed more than a hundred concerts since then, allowing us to get a very high level. COR AULOS has performed many pieces as
Catulli Carmina from Carl Orff, Welcome Ode from Benjamin Britten,
Danzas eslavas del príncipe Igor from Borodin, or Stabat Mater de F. Schubert, played at important concert halls as Palau de la Música Catalana or the Teatre Auditori de Sant Cugat del Vallès.
Some other interesting works we have prepared are the Beatus Vir, the
Magnificat and the Gloria from Vivaldi, and the Mesías from Haendel besides some pieces from Renaissance and contemporary composers.
The choir have had the opportunity to present for the first time the work Verdaguerianes from Toni Xuclà and also the work
Cinc Sardanes Vegetals from Matilde Salvador, both catalan composers. This last performance from Matilde Salvador was recorded by two important broadcasting stations of Catalonia.
The choir has also performed a couple of operas, Il Campanello from Donizzeti and
La Vídua Alegre from Franz Léhar.
On November 2000 We made a J.S. Bach program including two cantatas (BWV 78 and BWV 150) and an instrumental suite to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the composer's death.
The choir recorded the song Quisapon Exprés that figures on
the CD I si...? from Toni Xuclà, song that was played live with
the author at l'Espai in Barcelona.
From the old catalan music repertoire, we have to point out the Llibre
Vermell de Montserrat in a performance with a stage design from Carles Vicente.
This show has been performed four times with great success around Catalonia.
On 2001 Cor Aulos took part in a concert in honor of catalan mezzo-soprano Anna Ricci,
which took place at Foyer from the Gran Teatre
del Liceu.
