CONDUCTOR: JORDI PICCORELLI

Born in Barcelona in 1973 he makes musical studies at the Escola Municipal de Música in Sant Cugat del Vallès (1983-1992) and also at the Conservatori Professional de Música in Badalona (1993). The first contact with choirs conduction takes place with choirmaster Josep Ferré, who introduces him in conduction techniques and rehearsal pedagogy during two courses.
He makes the Choir Conduction Courses organized by FCEC (Federació Catalana d'Entitats Corals) with choirmasters Pep Vila, Mireia Barrera, Xavier Sans, Alfred Cañamero, Poire Vallvé, Emilio de la Linde and Ferran Marina.
He takes part of Sergio Seminovich's Master Class at the Conservatori de Terrassa where is choosen to conduct the closing concert. He also
participates in a Choir Conduction Master Class by Erik Eriksson at Fundació "La Caixa" in Barcelone. From 1996 to 1999 he attends to Daroca Ancient Music Courses with masters Martin Schmid and Vasco Negreiros. As a performer he played the violin at Jove Orquestra Sant Cugat (1991-1997) and sang at Cor d'Amics de l'Opera de Sabadell (1993-1996).
Conductor and founder of COR AULOS (1993), of Camerata di Phonasci (1994) chamber orchestra and of Ars Vetus instrumental and vocal ancient music group (1998).
He is the guest conductor of the Orquestra Joan Valls from Caldes de Montbui in two Christmas concerts including
El Mesías from Haendel, Gloria and Magnificat from Vivaldi and
Suite n.2 from J.S. Bach with soloists Montserrat Torruella, Núria Dardinyà, Marisa Martins, Pau Bordes and Joan Bosch (flute) in 1996 y 1997.
He records Ave Maria for mixed choir and string orchestra from composer Víctor García Acín, a work written for the closure of the Theology Simposium in 1996 as a request from The Vaticano.
He conducts Simphony n.1 from Beethoven with the Orquestra Simfònica del Principat de Catalunya, where he works as an assistant conductor during 1998.
In several occasions since December 1998 he conducts the Llibre Vermell de Montserrat with musical and vocal group Ars Vetus, specially created to perform ancient music.
Since 1999 he has also been working with Òpera Còmica from Barcelona, conducting the choirs of the works
La filla del Regiment from Donizzeti, and El Rapte en el Serrall from
Mozart.
